East Stirlingshire have lost striker Andy Rodgers to Ayr United but secured goalkeeper Michael Andrews on loan from neighbours Falkirk until January.Shire had wanted Jamie Barclay for a third loan spell, but the Bairns rejected that approach and instead gave them 20-year-old youth cap Andrews.

Rodgers, 26, scored 14 goals for Shire last season and Ayr will hope he can take the step up to Division Two.

He previously had spells with Falkirk, Montrose and Dumbarton.

Brian Reid, whose side were relegated from Division One last season, told his club website: "Andy adds some good experience to the squad and I'm confident he will score goals at this level.

"He has done well at his previous clubs and he is a player I have thought should have been playing at a higher level."
