Ayr United received welcome news regarding their top scorer Bryan Prunty ahead of the match against Rovers by committing himself to the club for a further 12 months.
It has been a lean time for Prunty as League goals have been scarcer of late although he can still take heart from a controversial opener against Kilmarnock in the Cup replay at Rugby Park.
United midfielder Paul Weaver has left the club to pull on the shirt of third division East Stirling. The 22 year old previously had spells with Celtic and Blackburn Rovers before joining Ayr in 2005.
