The Homecoming Scottish Cup tie, postponed three times already, had been re-scheduled to take place on Wednesday December 10, with a 1:45 in the afternoon kick off after further attempts by Ayr United with the SFA to find a better solution.
Unfortunately, per the cup competition rules, there is no option available to move the tie to another venue or to a weekend. Ayr United are now resigned to playing the tie on a week day at a time when United fans will be unlikely to be able to attend.
Ayr United have vowed to write to the SFA officially requesting a rule change for next year's competition in order to improve the competition for fans, players and staff.
