Alan Trouten netted his fifth league goal of the season as Ayr United secured a Division Two promotion play-off place with a win at Dumbarton.He latched on to Michael Moffat's pass before calmly firing the ball into the bottom corner from 12 yards to give his side the lead after just 10 minutes.

Six minutes later, Trouten whipped the ball in from the right for Moffat to score from close range.

Eddie Malone turned Derek Carcary's cross into his own net on 63 minutes.
