Ayr V Stenhousemuir at Somerset Park - Match Preview

Triple blow for Ayr

Ayr are again missing John Robertson (ankle), Martyn Campbell and Michael McGowan (both knee) as they look to build momentum towards a promotion play-off push by defeating Stenhousemuir.

The Honest Men could move into the top half of the table after half a season of disappointment, with player-manager Mark Roberts saying: "We are getting ourselves into a position to make a real go of reaching the play-offs and beating Stenhousemuir will help that.

"We defeated Forfar on Saturday to close the gap on them and if we beat Stenhousemuir we climb into fifth and will have a real sense of momentum behind us."

Roberts added: "We have grown in confidence and that will help us against a good Stenhousemuir side."

Striker Stewart Kean (calf) will be the only absentee for Stenhousemuir as they look for the win that would take them above Forfar in the table.

The Warriors need to turn draws into wins to get into the play-off zone, with manager Martyn Corrigan saying: "We have drawn nine games and that has held us back as have a succession of injuries, but we appear to be over the worst of that now.

"If we can turn draws into wins we will get into the play-offs.

"Ayr will be tricky opponents as they have been getting good results recently and have added a lot of experience to their squad.

"We have experience in our ranks as well and we will need that to get the win at Somerset Park."
