Ayr aim to halt Doonhamers charge
Ayr duo John Robertson and Adam Hunter are doubts for the visit of runaway Second Division leaders Queen of the South.
The Honest Men are also again missing long-term absentees Martyn Campbell and Michael McGowan.
Somerset Park player/manager Mark Roberts is hoping 2013 will see his side start to climb higher than eighth place in the table.
"We were poor against Albion on Boxing Day but played really well against Alloa on Saturday," he said. "Hopefully that means we are bouncing back up the way and that we will start putting results together and move up the table.
"The last time Queen's were here we gave them a really tough game before losing 4-2. Hopefully we can play as well as we did then but get a better result."
Queen of the South will give Willie Gibson a late fitness test after the winger missed Saturday's 3-1 win over Stenhousemuir.
Paul Burns will be absent again due to a knee problem as player/manager Allan Johnston keeps everyone at the club grounded despite an 11-point advantage at the summit of the table.
He said: "Ayr have a very good group of players so we need to be very wary of them.
"There are still lots of games and points to be played for this season so we will continue to focus on one game at a time, starting at Somerset Park.
"We will go there looking to win with a side that is set up to attack Ayr."
