Ayr V Dunfermline at Somerset Park - Match Preview

Campbell misses Pars reunion

Ayr meet Dunfermline just 10 days after the Pars knocked the Honest Men out of the William Hill Scottish Cup in a replay and they continue to be without Martyn Campbell who has a foot injury.

Better news for player/manager Mark Roberts is that Anthony Mareghi is available after a ban and the on-loan Kyle McAusland is also available after missing out when the Somerset Park side lost 3-0 to his parent club Rangers last Saturday. Craig Malcolm is likely to continue in a midfield role.

Roberts said: "There is very little between us and Dunfermline and hopefully we will come out on top this time."

Second-placed Dunfermline are without full-back Ross Millen due to a foot problem. Ryan Williamson is set to deputise and Scott Mercer is included in the squad after ending his loan spell at Albion Rovers.

Manager Jim Jefferies is looking for his young squad to keep showing the spirit they displayed to grab an injury-time equaliser against Forfar last weekend.

He said: "We did not play well but we kept on going to get something from the game.

"The resilience will be required again as Ayr will be out to try and make up for our Cup win even though it was well deserved."
