Peterhead's Martin Bavidge returns after work commitments kept him out of the midweek defeat by St Mirren.
Defender Bobby Mann remains out with an ankle knock with Daniel Moore and Dennis Wyness restricted to substitute roles as they recover from injury.
Ayr United manager Brian Reid: "It was a great night against Hibs but we are right back into the nitty-gritty of the league now and I want us to get three points to keep right on the heels of Livingston.
"We have to be up for this game as Peterhead are a tough side and a much better team than their league position suggests."
