Michael Moffat hit a brace to give Ayr a 2-0 win over East Fife and maintain their place in the top four of Scottish League One.
Joe Mbu rattled a post after eight minutes for East Fife, while Ayr went close through Anthony Marenghi after 25 minutes but he failed to hit the target.
They went ahead just after the half-hour mark when Craig Johnstone upended Marenghi in the area and Moffat lashed in from the rebound after seeing his penalty parried by Greg Paterson.
Moffat added his second with 22 minutes remaining after Marenghi's pass found him and he rifled his 17th goal of the season into the top-right corner.
Gary Fisher almost gave East Fife a way back into the game minutes later but David Hutton parried away and Ayr held on for a second successive victory.
