Boss Reid Makes Changes to Line Up After Shock Albion Win

Manager Brain Reid is set to rest Kevin Cawley and Billy Gibson Two for the CIS Insurance Cup match at Stirling Albions Forthbank Stadium today.

Late goals from Robert Barr and David McFarlane swept Third Division Albion Rovers to a surprise win away to Ayr United in the Alba Challenge Cup last Saturday.

In truth the defeat by the third division outfit was no surprise as Ayr United have lost to third division opposition at this stage of the competition for the last few seasons.

Ayr missed a host of chances, with Kenny Connolly electing to square the ball when clean through, while keeper Jamie Ewings denied Ryan Stevenson.

But it was Rovers who struck in the 79th minute when Barr cut inside to lash home a wonder strike. Rovers new signing McFarlane fired home from a tight angle five minutes later to give the Coatbridge a well earned 2-0 win.

However, the manner of the defeat may be of concern, losing two very late goals in a match where United didnt perform. Brian Reid feels that certain players lacked match fitness and this is reflected in his team changes.

Meanwhile Stirling also make changes with Liam Corr coming in for the injured Greig McDonals who is out for the season.
