Stewart Kean scored his sixth goal in four games to rescue a point for Ayr in a stormy clash at Somerset Park.

Craig Conway put Ayr in front with a curling free kick 22 yards before the game exploded after 13th minutes.

Ayr's Ludovic Roy was red-carded for head-butting Alan Rattray, but Paul Tosh saw his resultant penalty kick saved by keeper John Hillcoat.

Ayr made them pay and doubled their lead when Kean fired home from the edge of the box.

However Tosh made amends for his earlier miss and scored twice within a minute to drag Forfar level.

The visitors then took control early in the second half when Paul Shields rounded Hillcoat and set up Barry Sellars to score from three yards.

But Ayr refused to lie down and Barry McLaughlin crossed for Kean to head home and salvage a points for the ten men.
