Bryan Prunty has been released by Ayr United.

The Ayr striker was instrumental in Ayr’s promotion campaign last season scoring 17 goals in the process.  First division football has been more difficult for him and goals have not been as forthcoming.

"I am delighted to get Bryan on board," manager Allan Maitland told Alloa's official website.

Also leaving Ayr United is Chris Aitken who has rejoined Stirling Albion after being released from his contract.

The midfielder spent three years with Stirling before joining Ayr in 2008 and has also had spells with Morton, Clyde and Hamilton Accies.

"Chris is leaving by mutual consent and it's amicable on both sides," manager Brian Reid told Ayr's website.
