James Helps United to Victory

St Johnstone star Kevin James made a successful start to his emergency loan deal with Ayr United, helping the Honest Men to a 5-0 home win against struggling Stranraer.

The definition of 'Emergency' is lost in the transaction as The St Johnstone skipper has agreed a 28-day move to Somerset Park in a bid to regain match sharpness, but it is also a significant spell for Ayr at a time of pressure and tired legs in the United camp.

The arrival of James should help shore up to keep confidence levels at Somerset Park whilst using the undoubted skills of the Perth man.

The 33-year-old defender has been dogged with injuries this season and has started just five Saints matches.

James, who moved to McDiarmid Park from Falkirk in 2005, played for the full 90 minutes on Saturday.
