Manager Lays Down The Law

With a run af 5 defeats and a draw leading up to Christmas, new manager Brian Reid has laid down the law to Ayr United's failing stars - 'Shape Up or Ship Out! Reid, who has already sacked two players since taking over says that he only wants players who are committed to the Ayr United cause. The manager said that he would rather bring in youngsters than play those who dont want to be there.

With those words stinging in the established players ears United did confirm that suspended goal ace Alex Williams is available again after suspesion and on loan player Ryan Baldacchino is back in training after a calf strain.

United's slump of one in eleven matches before Christmas left the club in relegation play off place.
A draw 1-1 against Queens Park at Hampden Park was followed by a morale boosting 4-0 win on 2nd january against Berwick Rangers. The win has closed the gap on those teams just outside the relegation zone.
Brian Reoid has vowed to turn it around once he gets his own men in place. He has that opportunity now and he has confirmed that the United Board have given him a free rein to bring as many as he needs to move the club up the table.
Brian Reids big plans for improvement will now be put to the test in the next few weeks.
We're all right behind you Brian.
