Ayr United's first trip to Abercorn was on 15th October 1910 for a 2nd division match which ended 3-3.
The first match between the two at Somerset Park ended in a 4-3 win for Abercorn.
Ayr United began their league campaign for season 1911/12 with a 4-2 win over Abercorn on 19th August 1911 at Somerset Park. Ayr continued their winning run over Abercorn with a 1-0 win at Ralston Park on 13th January 1912. The clubs held a friendly match at Ayr on 2nd March 1912 which Ayr also won by 1-0.
United started season 1912/13 in defence of their 2nd division title at home to Abercorn on 17th August 1912 and were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by the visitors, who also avoided losing to Ayr over the season by drawing 0-0 on 14th December in the second league match and defeating Ayr 2-1 win in the 4th round of the Scottish Qualifying Cup on 26th October 1912.
