From Herbert Dainty to Brian Reid

The managers that have lead Ayr United over the years have clearly been influential to the clubs fortunes - some for the better and some for the worse. What is not in doubt is that the previous owner and club Chairman, Bill Barr, has been the knight in shining armour that has kept the club afloat over the last few years. Without him Ayr United would be no more. His battle with South Ayrshire Council and the Scottish Executive to ensure that he can build an all seater stadium for Ayr United, without which they can never play in the Scottish Premier League, has been legendary. However, it has taken it's toll and Bill resigned as Chairman, selling his shares in the club. New Chairman Mr J Duncan, has promised better community involvement by the club.
